The boys of fall. Friday night lights. The electricity and excitement of a home football game. What’s not to love?! I’m so grateful my friend asked me to capture her son’s home football game as an alternative to his senior pictures. This was one of my most favorite sessions to date. I covered this Lake Orion senior’s game from start to finish. From the silent somber walk to the field…where all I could hear were the clicking of the cleats on the pavement. I had to wonder what thoughts went through each player’s head on that 5 minute walk up the hill. I respect that they do this as a team. I followed as my player was taped and prepped for the game and did his warm up drills. Probably my favorite moment of the whole night was when I stood by on the 50 yard line (with an insane amount of anticipation) to capture the charge of the cheerleaders leading their team onto the field.  I paced the sidelines all night looking for moments that might mean something to my senior player. I wanted to catch all the details that he will miss when he no longer gets to be a Lake Orion Dragon football player. Senior year sure is bittersweet.  Thankfully he will continue to play…#72 is headed to play football for the Naval Academy after graduation.

He has made his coaches, family, friends and many others so proud and I hope the album of this night will always bring a smile to his face.  And I hope he can show this album to his own kids someday so they can get a glimpse of what it was like to be a Dragon.

**I’ve decided that this type of session is too meaningful and awesome to not do again so I’m going to be offering sport themed packages for the 2017-2018 school year.

To know Chelsea is to love her. She is a super-laid-back-go-with-the-flow kinda gal.  Love this about her. We ventured mostly around my neighborhood and down the dirt roads and found some pretty neat pockets of light and wildflowers.  I always have my locations picked out ahead of time, but it never ceases to amaze me how much more awesome these locations become once my clients are there. It all just comes together.  I kinda geek out about it. I may or may not have made the strangest growl sound during Chelsea’s shoot in a moment of excitement over light. Definitely had us laughing. Ha!
