Today’s post is dedicated to one of my most favorite families on the planet.  The Trueblood Family.   Mama Trueblood happens to be one of my very best friends.  We share so many things including a classroom, our own kids (we’re like sister moms!), a love of all things DIY, vintage and barnwood, a passion for helping others, as well as capturing and documenting our most treasured memories.  You can follow her awesomeness over at Two Track Bliss.

I had the honor of photographing the Truebloods while they were expecting their second son and again shortly after little G entered the world.  The family maternity session was a crazy blur of bright sunshiny cold, snow, laughs, and tears!  Our little D man (big brother) was adorable and hilarious, as always….in both sessions actually!  The newborn session was much more low key.  Captured in the comforts of their own home…master bedroom in the afternoon sun.  D needed to be persuaded with some chocolate in order to come close to baby brother.  He made us laugh when he “shhhh’d” G for crying.  G was a perfect angel (once his belly was full).  He slept. hard. His precious little face was all smooshed in the blanket from how heavy he was snoozing!

I loved every second of these shoots!  This family is so dear to me.  I have enjoyed caring for and watching D grow over the past two years and I’m so looking forward to making new memories with baby G and snuggling him!!!

My beautiful friend, Kristy, is about to have her second baby.  I was so happy to be able to get a few shots of her while I was recently home for a visit.  She is momma to an adorably spunky little girl who I know will be such an awesome big sister.  I know what it’s like to be pregnant with a busy toddler.  Demanding and exhausting are two words that can’t even begin to describe it!  I’m so glad I caught the two of them coloring because I feel like these pictures capture the feeling I had while pregnant when I had those {few and far between} quiet and calm moments with my busy little Layla.  Those were good moments.  I could connect with her and breathe at the same time!

I’m so happy my friend gets to watch her little one become a big sister.  It is really special to witness.
